Welcome U.S. Army soldiers! I created this site to help Army soldiers and NCOs by providing them with a variety of information and reference links. It is also designed with some emphasis and specifics related to Military Intelligence (MI). As a Platoon Sergeant with 16 years in the Army, I have soldiers ask me questions everyday. Because of my experience, I'm able to give or find them answers quickly. I believe that knowledge is power and my goal is to make our soldiers and NCOs better and stronger by increasing their knowledge. I welcome your comments and suggestions for improving this site to meet your needs.
Regimental Coat of Arms: The coat of arms appears on the breast of a displayed eagle on the regimental flag. The coat of arms is: Azure (oriental blue), a key bendwise sinister in saltire with a lightning flash Argent, in fess point overall a sphinx Or. Displayed above the eagle's head is the Crest (On a wreath of the colors Argent and Azure (oriental blue) a torch Or enflamed Proper in front of two swords in saltire with hilts gold and blades of the first). The background of the flag is oriental blue and the fringe is silver gray.
Symbolism of Regimental Insignia: Oriental blue and silver gray are the colors associated with the Military Intelligence Corps. The key, flash and sphinx symbolize the three basic categories of intelligence: human, signal and tactical. The flaming torch between the crossed swords of the crest suggests the illumination as provided by Intelligence upon the field of battle. The motto, "ALWAYS OUT FRONT," reflects the forward location in gathering intelligence information.
Distinctive Unit Insignia. Description: A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) overall consisting of three black mountain peaks charged in base with an eight pointed white star, at top a gold sunburst on a blue (oriental) background, all enclosed within a convoluted gold scroll in red letters "CUSTOS SECRETORUM."
Symbolism: The golden sunburst just above the mountain peaks alludes to the sun setting in the West, and with the eight pointed rising star signifies the day and night protection given by the Group to this eight western state jurisdiction. Oriental blue is a color used by Military Intelligence.
Background: The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 14 January 1969.
